| the frog and the boiling water|

There is a Sinhala Facebook page called “කජුවත්ත එක්සත් ක්‍රීඩා සමාජය”.

Sometime ago, this was the most active and sensible Sri Lankan Facebook page available. Now the most popular social media space is mushroomed with sinhala pages that virtually offer nothing to its followers. This was something that it had translated to Sinhala, out of many sources in the internet.

Believe me it will make sense.

Put a frog into a bowl of water.

Put the bowl on a stove and start heating it.

Once the water temperature rises, the frog will increase his body temperature accordingly.

Although the frog is able to increase his body temperature, once the water is heated up to the boiling the frog is no longer able to increase his body temperature.

Therefore he decides to jump out of the bowl.

Although he decides the frog is unable to jump since he has no energy left in it.

This is due to the fact that the frog has wasted all of its energy on increasing its body temperature. The frog will face a horrible death soon.

Now, why did the frog die?

Most people will say that it is because of the hot water. But the real reason is that the frog failed to decide the ideal time to make the jump.

In real life we adapt ourselves for different people and different situations. That is compulsory. But the time to adapt and time to quit has to be identified accordingly.

Once you reach the point where you are unable to adapt anymore, you might NOT have enough energy left in you to get away from the situation.
